THE HISTORY OF BETHANY

Bethany Church was founded in 1963 by a handful of families in the Conejo Valley. Started as a mid-week Bible study meeting in homes, the rapid growth of the church led them to meet in YMCA facilities, a local barn, and a neighboring school. In early 1970, the first phase of its current structure on the hill was completed. With an emphasis on families and children’s ministries, Bethany Christian School was started as a ministry and outreach in 1975, and faithfully serves children preschool-eighth grade. A half-century of dedicated church ministry, a vibrant school offering quality Christian education, and a radio preaching ministry are the pillars of our service to the Conejo Valley and beyond.
