History
Established in 1909.

Hessel church takes its name from a young school teacher who was hired by the fledgling Eucalyptus School District in 1909. When she asked her students where they went to church, they responded that they could not because the local train did not run on Sundays. Esther told the children that if they came back to the the school Sunday mornings she would hold a Sunday School class. Her classes caught on and soon after adult classes were started. In the decades that followed land was donated, pastors were called, a church building was constructed, and the ministry continues to thrive and grow.
