Profile
We warmly welcome all guests, and hope that you will join us in worship and fellowship soon! Our website has the latest information about our active congregation, our beliefs and values, and the many opportunities for worship and fellowship as well, as spiritual and personal growth, such as Bible studies, Prayer Quilts, Choir, fellowships, youth and young adult groups, and an elementary school. There is something for everyone at Grace–especially for YOU! The word ‘grace’ (Kaná in Hebrew, xáris ‘charis’ in Greek), as it is used in the scriptures, literally means ‘favor’, or ‘kindness.’ Both refer to God freely extending Himself (His favor, grace), reaching (inclining) to people because He is disposed to bless (be near) them. We welcome you to join us as we gather around Jesus in worship and prayer, study and service, here and in daily life, so that you can come to know the One who meets us in our places of hunger and feeds us so that we hunger no more (John 6:57-58 ). For sixty years this church has educated the youth of our church and community with an outstanding record of success. Our school-wide educational growth is 1.7 academic years for every calendar year. We are accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and the National Lutheran School Accreditation (NLSA) from the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod.
History
Established in 1921.
Grace Lutheran Church & School was officially organized in 1921. Her first building was the present Parish Hall, which was originally used for both worship and fellowship. In 1957, her next building was the school, which was in full use before the congregation built its Nave for worship in 1960. Since its early years, the congregation has held a high regard for the education of its children and those in the surrounding community. Our location provides a safe and nurturing learning environment on an attractive campus. Its caring and loving faculty and staff provide quality instruction in an environment that recognizes each student as a special and unique child of God. For a grand lady of 97, she remains remarkably alive and full of vim and vigor, as she continues to welcome new members and enrich the faith and lives of long-time members.
