Established in 1966.

The oldest children’s bookstore in the country, this community touchstone was founded in 1966 by pioneering children’s bookseller Jane Humphrey. In 2003, the Palacios family, by way of our then-9 year old daughter Jessica’s letter-to-the-editor, bought the store from Mrs. Humphrey and have kept the unique, community-building and inspiring look and feel for more generations to enjoy.
