Established in 1868.

Where are we from? Legacy Church started in 1868 as Los Nietos Baptist Church. It later became First Baptist Church of Downey and one of California’s first megachurches under the leadership of several influential Pastors. One of our church buildings became Knott’s Berry Farm’s “Church of Reflections.” In January 2020 the church relaunched with new life as Legacy Church. Where are we going? God is on the move in Legacy Church. Our first goal is to invite you to meet Jesus in Legacy Church. Our second goal is to invite every person in the city of Downey to meet Jesus in Legacy Church. Our third goal is to invite every person in our surrounding cities to meet Jesus in Legacy Church. Our fourth goal is to start Legacy Campuses in every state. Our fifth goal is to start Legacy Campuses on every continent and every country, including the cold ones. These will probably keep us busy until Jesus returns.
