History
Established in 1889.
Christianity was brought to the San Gabriel Valley in 1771 by the Spanish Franciscan Fathers with the founding of the San Gabriel Mission. After California became part of the United States, Americans from the East began settling on the former Spanish land grants. The community of Covina’s orgins date to this period and some of its principle early settlers were Episcopalian. As the area became well known for its citrus orchards, the town grew and on Trinity Sunday 1889 Holy Trinity Parish was formally organized. We have been a well-known presence in the City of Covina and the East San Gabriel Valley as a vital faith community ever since.
