Profile
The mission of Faith Lutheran Church in San Dimas is to introduce people to new life in Jesus Christ that grows into enthusiastic Christian living. We are a historic, innovative and involved congregation. We are small enough to know you. We are large enough to do many kinds of ministry both at home and around the world. We will help you find your gifts, and we will expect you to use them with us to help people in need. In doing this, you will find your true self.
History
Established in 1964.
Faith Lutheran Church was built on land that was a avocado grove in San Dimas, California. Some of those original trees still bear fruit on the playground of Faith Lutheran Pre-School and Day Care. Our founding Pastor, Ray Kibler, II, lead the construction of our original church and the first classroom/office building, as well as the second classroom that was used for the expansion of our excellent Pre-school and Day Care. Two acres of the original four were sold to pay part of our original debt. Pastor Kibler retired in 1986. Pastor David Berkedal accepted a call to serve at FLC and began serving that Fall. The congregation built a Parish Hall in the early ’90’s and completed a new worship and office facility in 2009. Faith Lutheran Church is now contributing to the construction of a fifth church in Tanzania, Africa. It is heavily invloved in local ministries that feed people, provide housing, and equip people for service in the Kingdom of God.
